Healthy and Effective Weight Loss: Ready, Set, Succeed!  

The participants will leave with their individual draft plan focused on achieving their optimal weight through exercise and nutrition and will also practice basic exercises under guidance and supervision.

Description

This course combines lectures, movement, as well as individual and group activities focusing on healthy, sustainable and effective weight management programs through lifestyle, nutrition and exercise. The course will also provide tools for the participant to define their own weight management goals and draft a plan to achieve them. We will cover such topics as caloric intake vs. expenditures in terms that can be easily applied to real life, pros and cons of most popular diets, exercise options, and will have activities that would help implement the planned actions into everyday life of each participant.  The sessions will also include structured workouts introducing basic cardio and resistance training concepts.

Lesson 1: Fundamental weight management concepts (weight, Body-Mass Index (BMI), body composition, energy balance, etc.) self-evaluation and defining own weight management goals and evaluation tools.

Lesson 2: Nutritional guidelines and overview of some diets (keto, Mediterranean, vegan, intermittent fasting, etc.)

​

Lesson 3: Overview of the effectiveness of exercise options (bootcamps, aqua, cardio, resistance) and ways to include movement into everyday life

​

Lesson 4: Putting it all together: group coaching on drafting a plan for healthy and sustainable weight management.
